About Me
Kathleen Losi, EDD
Founder, Creator, and Developer of "Scholarly Habits"
My education and teaching experiences align with my passion for empowering children with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom and for life.

I earned a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Doctor of Education in Education Leadership at Concordia University, Irvine, to develop my expertise in researching, creating, and writing curricula I teach during Growing Scholars sessions.

My Background
I have taught in the K-12 world for 25 years, at the middle,
high school, and elementary levels, where I spent almost two
decades. I have certification and years of experience teaching
gifted and talented students and twice-gifted kiddos.

As a teacher, I recognized that some students thrived in my
classroom, and others didn't. So one of my objectives was to
establish a warm, inviting classroom where kids felt deeply
connected to me and their purpose in school. Some kids needed more support with their habits and routines, and some required challenging activities that provided deeper learning than I could provide during the school day. Seeing a child move on at the end of the school year without achieving the remarkable success I knew they were capable of was heartbreaking. So I started Growing Scholars to change that.
About Growing Scholars
Growing Scholars promotes social and emotional growth and academic achievement by teaching students executive skills and creating accountability to establish a positive attitude, healthy habits, and independent routines to foster success in the classroom and for life. We also motivate high-achieving and gifted students to go beyond what they thought possible.

A child’s behavior patterns now will be their foundation for life. So, let’s allow them to experience success and build their confidence and independence to thrive.
This program is a passion project I dreamed about but needed more time and resources to create while raising my two kids and teaching on the frontline in the K-12 world. After completing my doctorate in Education Leadership, and 25 years in the classroom, I decided it was time to redirect my efforts as an educator and concentrate on helping students differently.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower students with social and emotional awareness and skills to establish a positive attitude, healthy habits, and independent routines while developing a lifelong love for learning and creating sustainable, improved change for their academic years and beyond.
Our Vision
Our vision is to see all children have the opportunity to thrive as they learn to understand their unique potential and purpose in life.
